Communication
Communication is a volunteer-run, all-ages arts and music nonprofit. We are dedicated to cultivating stronger bonds throughout the creative community in and beyond Madison. We are committed to engaging in antiracist work, mutual aid, and equitable compensation for artists and musicians. As of June 2024, we are requiring all attendees to wear a face mask at all times. State Street Jams
State Street Jams provides live concerts right in the center of campus mischief (State Street) in downtown Madison, WI. During the summer we host outdoor shows (ONLY ON SATURDAYS) that bring in a great built in crowd as well as a fair amount of foot traffic. In the winter we host indoor shows at a variety of basements in town. Outdoor shows are donation based, basement shows have a door charge, touring bands get majority cut. Hell’s Disco
We are a house venue that puts on basement shows Friday and Saturday nights. We prefer punk or punk-adjacent music but other genres can inquire. Can't guarantee availability, but if you reach out I can help to hook you up with another venue in the area. Also can help out with a place to crash. No bigotry of any kind tolerated. Bands are paid with collected donations, out of town bands prioritized. Because it's a house, it's not very accessible and there are stairs. That said, we're a friendly bunch and if you have accessibility needs and don't mind a bunch of punks helping you up and downstairs, we can accommodate! There are metal folding chairs available to sit on upon request. We have cats, so if you're allergic to cats you may wish to bring medication (or take some beforehand) but if you can't afford any let us know and we'll spot you.
